Kindness... Bring It On!

It's the Singapore Kindness Month. The pupils were asked to reflect on how they showed kindness and why it was important for Singaporeans toto be kind. Let's see how 5A responded.

How I can be kind...
Jia Yu
I will help my friends or classmates if they have problems or questions. I will be not harm animals and I will save the planet by trying to prevent global warming.

Brian Yeo
I can help teachers to carry books to the staff room. I can help the blind to cross the road and to give up my seat to the elderly. I can help my mother to do household chores.

Khadijah
I can show kindness to anyone. When we see our teachers carrying loads of things, we can offer our help. Be Gracious!

Rida
I can show kindness by helping people and be good friends.

Salifian
I must always help my friend. If he has any problems in his studies, I will help and teach him. If my friend forgets to bring his money or food for recess, I will share my food with him.

Yi Ying
I can save the earth and be kind to it by not littering.

Nabilah
I show kindness by helping my friends and teachers. I help Mrs Ong to carry her books every morning. She is very pleased with me. I like people to praise me and I feel good about myself. (Thanks, Nabilah! You are a great help indeed! )

Shannon
I can show kindness by sending someone who is unwell to the sick bay.

Nurul
I show kindness by helping the elderly.

Amirul
Help someone who falls to the general office.

Edmund
Lend my stationery to my friends.

Zhu Deng
It is actually very simple to show kindness. A small act makes a great difference. For example, talking softing on the phone if you see a baby sleeping in his mother's arms.

Yi Jian
I can help elderly to cross the road and my teachers to carry things to the staff room.

Yu Min
I can help my new classmate by bringing her around in school.

Why is it important for Singaporeans to be kind?

Yan Lin
If there is no kindness in Singapore, the needy will not receive help. We can show other people that Singapore is a country with love because everyone is helping one another.

Farah
People will want to come to Singapore.

Hwee Peng
Our country will be peaceful and will live in harmony. The foreigners will want to come to Singapore again.

Chao Yuan
If we are kind, tourists will help us to spread the word to the other parts of the world that the little red dot is gracious.

Rifdi
If Singaporeans are not kind, our country will not be a happy one.

Anissh
Singapore will be a wonderful place to live in!

Pristine
It is important because it helps the community to connect. Singapore is a multi- racial country. It is important to live harmoniously together.

Trishalyn
If Singaporeans are not kind, they will argue over little things. We don't want that to happen, do we?

Are you the WANTED one?

The class did WANTED posters of their favourite storybook characters. This was an activity done in conjunction with the Book Week. Russell Lee, a popular local writer, came to our school last week. He shared with the school the importance of reading books. He advised them to watch less TV but to read extensively.
5A, work towards your first set of 35 books! That's your target, remember?
Oohhh.. I am sooo... hungry for BOOKS!!!
