On 24 July, we had our first Fitness Friday in Term 3. We had it in class. Pupils had to view a video and follow the steps shown by the instructors. The children participated very actively :)
On 18 July, 35 pupils from 5A boarded the bus to go to the Floating Platform. All were very excited. We had to wait for about 1.5h before the show started. However, the pupils entertained themselves by taking photographs of their environment. The simple meal of a hot dog bun and some wedges was enjoyed by all as very rarely would we have an opportunity to feast at the Floating Platform. I guess the fireworks display hyped all up as shrills filled the air :) There were little accidents to add to all the "rara". Ming Jun and Nurul fell and Yi Jian's nose bled! They were actually not very bothered about the slight pain and the blood shed. All their pains were forgotten when they recounted the strong emotions evoked when we sang our national anthem and the classic National Day Songs -- Stand up for Singapore and Count on Me, Singapore. A great experience for 5A indeed! For more photos, click on to the link on your right :)
The school celebrated Racial Harmony Day today. 5A were shown videos of the 1964 racial riots and the Maria Hertogh riot. They were asked why it was important to maintain racial harmony. Each was asked to write a pledge to help maintain racial harmony either in Singapore or in school. The school was treated to a feast of performances by the P1 classes. Anissh from 5A was selected to be one of the 4 emcees. We are very proud of him. Good job, Anissh! (Anissh is the one in the smart black suit.)
Previously, anybody could post comments in the blog. However, recently, there have been abusers posting unkind and mean comments. This arouses unhappiness in class. The class does not want any to smear the blog, much less their reputation. As a result, anyone who wants to post comments needs to be a registered member. We want to hear you! Be a member!
I was away for about 2 weeks beginning of Term 3 because I was involved in AYG as a liaison officer. I was with 3 other teachers, Mr Fauzy (Canberra Primary), Mr Noor and Mr Simon Chew (Canberra Secondary). We took care of the Syrian athletes.
I did not manage to take many photographs as I was really busy. However, I did take a few and I would like to share them with you :) It was really an experience watching the events live and serving Singapore :) I strongly encourage all of you to witness the 1st YOG with your family next year. Be part of the Singapore history:)
5A is a new class in Endeavour Primary School. It consists of 31 pupils as at 02 Jan. The form teacher is Mrs Kris Ong. She is in the education arena for 12 years.
