Merge or Not to Merge?

There are 14 points and 14 stripes on the Malaysian flag. What do they represent?

To Merge or Not to Merge?

In your opinion, should Singapore and Malaya merge then? Why? Why not?

  1. The 14 stripes, of equal width, represent the equal status in the federation of the 13 member states and the federal government, while the 14 points of the star represent the unity between these entities.

  2. If it is in 1970's,I think Singapore should merger as we would learn a lot of things and get natural resources from Malaysia. But if it is in the 1990's,we should get independent.

  3. The flag of Malaysia, also known as the Jalur Gemilang ("Stripes of Glory")
    White - peace and honesty
Red - hardiness, bravery, strength & valour
Blue - vigilance, truth and loyalty, perseverance & justice.
Yellow - the yellow seen on the crescent and star is the color of the royal family

  4. I think Singapore should merge with Malaysia as they could learn how to run the country, get their natural resources(tin and rubber) and Singaporean could get jobs.

  5. The Malaysian National Flag consists of fourteen red and white stripes of equal width, a union or canton of dark blue, a crescent and a star that has fourteen points.
-the red and white stripes stand for equal status in the federation of the member states and the federal government.
-the star, the 14 points of which symbolise the unity of the 13 states of the federation with the federal government.

I would suggest for Singapore and Malaysia to merge so that they can combine their strengths to build a more powerful country and overcome their weaknesses. Though it also has a downside if what happened in the past happens again.

I think that they should merge together so that they can combine they strengths and they can build a more powerful country together. They can also learn how to run the country from each other. Singapore can also get the resources they need easily from Malaysia.

  8. The 14 stripes on the Malaysian flag represent the 14 states of Malaysia (Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan). The 14 pointed star symbolises the unity of the 13 states and the federal government.

I think they should merge with Malaysia so that they could get natural resources and the citizens could get more jobs.

I also think they should not merge as this issue causes riots and chaos everywhere.

  10. The fourteen stripes represent the thirteen states and the federal government, as does the Federal Star, which with the crescent representing Islam, in yellow also represents royalty. The Federal star was originally 11-pointed but 3 more were added for Borneo states plus Singapore, but was kept when Singapore left the Union to represent Federal territories.
